Envisiontec 3D-Bioplotter is a Rapid Prototyping system for printing a wide variety of Biomaterials (ceramic, metallic, soft hydrogel materials and others) suitable for use in different applications.
The EnvisionTEC 3D Bioplotter System has been used since 2000 for pre-clinical studies.
The 3D-Bioplotter® Printer is specially designed for the creation of physical scaffolds starting from CAD data for Computer Aided Tissue Engineering.
Tissue Engineering requires 3D scaffolds with well-defined external and internal shapes and structures, which can be perfectly created using the 3D Bioplotter system.
Many other applications have been developed using this highly innovative prototyping system such as studies in the fields of material science, toxicology, neurology.
Furthermore, in the clinical field it is possible to create a 3D solid model starting from an STL file which can then be used to create models for implants.
The bioprinting technique used can be described as the deposition of materials in three dimensions using atmospheric pressure. The materials that can be used range from loose polymers to viscous pastes and liquids.
Using layered deposition, parallel lines of material are created and thus a very fine “mesh” with good mechanical properties and a mathematically well-defined porosity.
Through the use of pastes, hydrogels and other liquids capable of rapidly solidifying, this technology enables a wide range of possible applications in the field of 3D Bioprinting.
